BIG SANDY Deloris Marie Foley, 65, of Big Sandy died Monday, July 10, 2006, at the Big Sandy Medical Center in Big Sandy due to cancer.
Cremation will take place and her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Big Sandy church. Deloris was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Dayton, Iowa, to Edwin and Rosetta (Bass) Luth. She was raised and educated in Iowa, attending Lehigh Public Schools. She met Joseph Foley Jr. And they were married on Dec. 4, 1972, in Yankton, S.D. The couple made their home in Big Sandy and raised their family. Deloris worked at the Big Sandy Medical Center and J&D Meat Processing in Big Sandy. Deloris enjoyed sewing, fishing, history, traveling and cooking. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at the Catholic Church. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include her stepdaughters, Debra Ann Bumgarn of Big Sandy and Susan Elaine Lenz of Lismore; son, Michael Joseph McCarthy of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Dorthy (Harley) Foster of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Beverly (Dean) Herrick of Farmington, Iowa, Eleanor (Richard) Smith Tucson, Ariz., Rochelle (Hurley) Norton of Bentonville, Ark., and Kim (Joe) Fiebigen of Dayton, Iowa; brothers, Charles (Shirley) Luth of Farnhamville, Iowa, Gary (Cheryl) Luth of Hamilton, Iowa, and Robert Luth of Burlington, Iowa. Memorials in Deloris' honor can be made to St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
