E l s i e
was born
Sept. 15,
1924, at
Rudyard to
Oscar David
Adams and
Emma Louise Lambott. Elsie
grew up in Rudyard and
received her formal education
there.
In 1942, she married Robert
Albright. They made their home
in the Chester community,
where Elsie worked as a
farmwife, homemaker and
mother of three. The Albrights
had been together more than 25
years when their marriage
ended in divorce.
Elsie married John Taylor in
1969. They lived in the Chinook
community throughout their
married life. In 2000, Elsie's
health began to fail due to
emphysema and Parkinson's
disease. She transferred to
Northern Montana Care Center
in Havre, where she lived for
the past six years. Recently she
suffered a serious debillitating
stroke followed by pneumonia.
She was past member of the
V.F.W. Auxiliary and the
Rudyard Saddle Club. Elsie was
a lifelong lover of horses, and
the Taylor's were always eager
participants in the annual
Malta-Landusky Wagon Trail
rides.
Over the years, Elsie played
in many softball, bowling and
horseshoe leagues and tournaments.
She was an excellent
seamstress who made numerous
prom and wedding dresses. She
was also a wonderful cook,
enjoyed working in her flower
gardens and was an exceptional
woodworker. In her quiet time
at home, she loved to read,
especially westerns by Zane
Grey, or watch television. One
of her favorite shows was the
“Wheel of Fortune.” She was
also a self-taught and talented
painter. Elsie was an avid fan
of Don Greytak. She sold his
prints in the Chinook area for
eight years. She also loved to
shop for antiques and collected
porcelain dolls and birds.
