VIOLA FREIER obituary

Viola Ella Freier, 81, of Havre died Tuesday May 30, 2006, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church with Vaundalee DeLong and Ila McClenahan officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the service.

Viola was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Pipestone, Minn., to Dewey and Ella (Dahlhoff) Bostic. When she was a young girl, she moved with her family to Havre, where she attended Havre Public Schools. Viola worked at Buttrey's Department Store for a few years.

She met Edwin Freier and the couple married Dec. 19, 1944, in Havre at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Havre and raised their six children. Viola was a longtime member of Van Orsdel United Methodist Church and was very active in her church circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching baseball. She was diagnosed with multiple schlerosis 1966. After Edwin retired, the couple enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona and the summers in Havre.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Edwin, in 2001.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Carrier of Spokane, Wash., Donna Brewer of Surprise, Ariz., Diane (Rich) Dolven of Kalispell, Sheryl (Steve) Burstock of Havre, Jan (Dallas) Donoven of Kremlin; son, Steve (Lori) Freier of Havre; sister, Aldene (Darrell) Klock of Adams Center, N.Y.; brother, Clayton (Betty Jane) Bostic of Midwest City, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Viola's honor can be made to Van Orsdel United Methodist Church or Northern Montana Care Center.

Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
