RONAN - Agatha Sherman, 80, of Ronan died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at St. Luke Community Hospital in Ronan.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ronan on Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Ronan Cemetery. A reception will follow at the parish hall in Ronan.
Agatha was born on July 9, 1925, in Goldstone to Anton and Juliana Schwan. Agatha worked in the kitchen hospital in Havre.
She married Gordon Sherman on Dec. 12, 1944, in Havre. They farmed north of Rudyard until 1960. They farmed and ranched near Chinook in the Bear Paws at Birdtail Ranch and eventually moved to Ronan in 1964. They continued to farm on a little farm in North Crow.
After Gordon's death, she went to work for Hanson & Granley Gambles for 10 years. Agatha also worked as a teacher's aide at Ronan Elementary School.
Aggie maintained her home and big yard up until three years ago, when she moved in with her daughter and family.
Aggie was known for her excellent cooking and her yummy baked goods, especially her cinnamon rolls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; sons, Larry “Woody” and Ronald; and great-granddaughter, Amanda Sherman.
Survivors include her son, Russ (Joan) Sherman of Pablo; daughters, Donna (Mike) Molzhon of Ronan and Shirley (Tracy) Burland of Ronan, 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Laeupple of Havre; and brother, Paul Schwan of Havre.
Arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home & Crematory of Polson.
