REGINALD TAYLOR obituary

GLASGOW - Reginald (Reggie) Hunt Taylor, 80, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow.

His funeral service was held May 2 at Bell Funeral Home in Glasgow.

Reggie was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Two Dot to Alfred and Winnie Maie (Hunt) Taylor. He was raised in the Kalispell area and attended Mountain Brook School. He graduated from Hingham High School. He then attended Navy Boot Camp in Athol, Idaho. Reg served in the Philippines in World War II and Guam in the Korean War.

He hired on with the Great Northern Railway in 1948 in Havre and retired from Burlington Northern Railway in 1988 as an engineer. He was proud of the fact he had served 40 years with no lost time for an accident.

Reginald was married to Lucy Newbauer. They lived in Havre. They were later divorced. He then married Virginia Stone. She died in January 1967. On Nov. 8, 1968 he married Jacquelyn Jones in Wallace, Idaho. They lived in Williston, N.D., from 1968 until 1972, when they moved to Glasgow, where he lived out his life. His wife, Jackie, died in October 2001.

Reggie took his dog for a walk twice every day, loved to spend time with his grandkids and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, racquetball and playing golf. He enjoyed summer when he could raise many tomatoes to share with his friends. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Elks Club.

Survivors include his sons, Dale (Kelly) Taylor of Great Falls, Gary (Ann) of Spokane, Wash.; daughter, Lynda (Roy Jobe) Premo of Lacey, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, James Taylor of Malta; sister, Grace Potter of Oklahoma; and friend, Barb Dickinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Virginia and Jackie; son, Larry Taylor in 1988; brother, Ray; sisters, Beatrice and Emily; and grandparents, Wallace and Alma Hunt.
