Gloria Jeanne Sterrett, 65, of Havre, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and former Havre business owner, died of natural causes at her home Friday, April 28, 2006.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fifth Avenue Christian Church in Havre with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Gloria was born Feb. 6, 1941, to Elgin and Dorothy (Cooke) McNeill in Havre. She was raised and educated in the Bear Paw Mountains and in Big Sandy. She graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1959.
She married Larry Sterrett on Dec. 5, 1959, in Havre. She worked as a secretary at Buttrey's in Havre and in the corporate office of Motor Valley Supply Parts Warehouse. Later, she owned and operated Havre Health Foods with her family. She was active on the family farm, kept everything running smoothly and kept everyone well fed.
Gloria was dedicated to her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, cooking, and especially spoiling her grandsons.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Stacee.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Sterrett of Havre; daughters, Susan (Rob) Reid of Chinook and Shelly (Jon) Harmon of Turner; grandchildren, Thomas and Trevor Reid and Eddie and Jack Harmon; sister, Dolly (Duke) Pursley of Big Sandy; brothers, Dan (Sandy) McNeill of Chinook and Tom McNeill of Portland, Ore.; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
