VANCOUVER, Wash. - Glen R. Campbell, 82, of Vancouver, Wash., a former Havre resident, died in Vancouver Saturday, April 29, 2006.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Vancouver, where he was a member for several years.
Glen was born April 27, 1924, in Torrance, Calif., to Roy Miles Campbell and Cora Nehring Campbell. He grew up and attended schools in Havre.
He was a World War II veteran. He served in Europe. He was a retired chief train dispatcher for the Burlington Northern Railway for 42 years.
He married Alice Markwart in Reno, Nev., in September 1953.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janet and June.
Survivors include his sons, David (Linda) Campbell of Vancouver and Gary (Tina) Campbell of Olympia, Wash.; daughter, Janet (Jeff) Finrud of Camas, Wash.; two grandchildren; sisters, Gerry Jensen of Vancouver and Carrie Solheim of Havre; and brothers, Kenny (Betty) Campbell of Havre and Stanley (Ann) Campbell of Baltimore, Md.
