ANDREWS, Texas - Edward Leon Henn, 82, of Andrews, Texas, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at his daughter's home in Andrews.
A funeral service was held Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Edward was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Orlando, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a drilling superintendent for Elenburg Exploration for more than 15 years and several other companies over the years.
He married Billie Ruth Carnes on Nov. 14, 1966, in Roswell, N.M. They moved to and out of Andrews several times, but moved back from Montana to stay in 1983.
Edward was a member and former branch president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Andrews. He loved his church and his wife very much.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and joking with and teasing people.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie, in 2005; and sister, Elora Henn.
Survivors include his sons, Mike Henn of Rapid City, S.D., and Craig Batson of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Marlene Jones of Norfolk, Va., Jana Beth Hawkins of North Carolina, LaVada Brinton of Salt Lake City, Daisy Barton of Andrews, Patsy Ford of Merkel, Texas, and Geneva Napper of Andrews; sisters, Martha Burk of Yukon, Okla., and Lorraine Vitt of Bedford, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
