VALLEY SPRINGS, Calif. - Hazel B. Bremer, 83, of Valley Springs, Calif., died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital in San Andreas, Calif.
A memorial service was held Monday morning at Foothill Lutheran Church in Valley Springs. Visitation in Montana will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory in Great Falls. A Montana service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfield with burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Fairfield.
Hazel Coster was born Nov. 21, 1922, at Belt.
Hazel married Paul Jacobsen in Juneau, Alaska, in 1940. They lived there for seven years, then moved to Montana, where they lived in Simms, Polson and Fairfield.
In 1974, she married Louis Bremer of Greenfield, where they lived until 1979. They moved to Valley Springs, where they built their home. She was active in the Foothills Lutheran Church doing many acts of service for the congregation and her community.
Hazel was a very caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout her life, she enjoyed playing pinochle, camping and bowling with her family and friends. She loved working in her yard with her flowers, especially her beautiful roses, which she loved sharing with her congregation.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Bremer of Valley City; sons, Douglas (Mary) Jacobsen of Stockton, Calif., and Clifford (Vickie) Jacobsen of Havre; daughters, Joanne (Dennis) Berczyk of Great Falls and Paulette (Lyall) Stott of Choteau; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
