CHINOOK - Lucille Smith Molitor, 90, of Chinook died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Park Place Health Care Center in Great Falls due to natural causes.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.
Lucille was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Victor to George and Effie (Miner) Blair. She was raised and attended schools in Victor. Lucille graduated from Victor High School in May 1934.
Lucille married Robert C. “Bob” Smith on Nov. 19, 1934, in Missoula. She resided on the Smith Family Ranch in the Bears Paw Mountains south of Lloyd. Shortly after her husband was killed in an automobile accident on a county road in the Bears Paw Mountains on June 16, 1955, she moved to Havre. She sold the ranch in 1960. Lucille worked for Dr. Sherry in Havre as a dental assistant until 1965.
She married Ed Molitor in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on Oct. 21, 1965, and they resided in the Beaver Creek area. He died Jan. 2, 1979, and Lucille lived in Havre until moving to Great Falls in 1995. She has lived the past five years at the Park Place due to failing health.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.
Survivors include her daughters, Beverly (Wayne) Maxwell of Chinook and Marlene (Phil) Englert of Missoula; son, Robert (Margaret) Smith of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the Havre Eagles Auxiliary.
