MALTA - Adelaide Amanda (Reinertson) Ellsworth, 93, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the Phillips County Hospital of natural causes.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Malta Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Malta Cemetery.
Adelaide was born in Astoria, S.D., on April 22, 1912, to Lars and Minnie (Bergjord) Reinertson. The family moved to a farm in Marshall County, S.D., where she and her siblings grew up.
Addy married Glenn Elsworth in Britton, S.D., on Dec. 26, 1929. They lived and worked on various farms until moving their family to Breckenridge, Minn., in 1941, where Glenn went to work on the Great Northern Railway. They were transferred to Montana in 1956 and lived in Havre until retirement in 1973. She and Glenn retired to Loring and made a home of the old school house there.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Errol in 1936; parents; husband, Glenn in 1988; son, Stanley in 2003; sisters, Mora and Gloria; and brothers, Parville, Lester, Dallas and Wallace.
Survivors include her daughters, Claudia Andel and Niva Neppl of Minnesota and Mavis (Iver) Johannesen of Loring; daughter-in-law, Alice; sisters, Verna Nelson, Phyllis Carpenter, Stella Olson and Evelyn Thymian; brothers, Thurman, Odean and Leon Reinertson; and more than 100 direct descendants, all blessed by her presence and influenced by her.
