CLYDENE SWINNEY obituary

Clydene M. Swinney, 88, of Havre died Monday, March 21, 2006, at Northern Montana Care Center.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Rice officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

Clydene was born in Dover, Okla., on January 18, 1918, to Maurice and Rebie (Lawter) Beck. She attended primary education in Dover and nurses' training in Enid, Okla.

She met and married Donald M. Swinney on June 3, 1942, in Enid. After the war, having lived previously in Oklahoma and Texas, they farmed north of Gildford until their retirement.

Clydene was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a 25-year volunteer at the North Central Senior Citizens Center, member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of Van Orsdel United Methodist Church.

Clydene was preceded in death by her husband of more than 53 years, Donald M.; son, Donald Martin Swinney; one sister; and two brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Rick (Marie) Swinney of Pahrump, Nev., Jerry Swinney of Deer Lodge and Rex (Kathy) Swinney of Gildford.

Memorials can be given in Clydene's name to the Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210-2472.

Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
