HIGHLAND, Utah - Marion S. (Gearheart) Peterson, 80, died peacefully at the University of Utah Medical Center on Friday, March 3, 2006.
A graveside interment service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Avonmore Chapel, 5848 W. 11000 N., Highland, a few miles east of I-15 on Highway 92. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Marion was born in Chinook on May 10, 1925, to William and Nellie Johnson.
She lived in Montana most of her life and most recently resided in Highland, Utah. She was employed for many years as an executive secretary and taught piano lessons most of her adult life. Marion loved music and enjoyed teaching her students to love it, too. A convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was often called on to share her musical talents. Marion loved and lived the teachings of Jesus Christ. She truly blessed the lives of those who came in contact with her, always sharing a smile and an unforgettable wink.
In 1944 Marion was married to Stanley Gearheart, and they were divorced in 1984.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; son, John; and grandchildren, Matthew and Heather.
Survivors include her husband, Don C. Peterson of Highland; sister, Lucille Oehmcke of Chinook; daughter, Rebecca Beckman of Gresham, Ore.; sons, Robert Gearheart of Durham, N.H., Stephen Gearheart of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, Michael Gearheart of Taylorsville, Utah, and Jerrold Gearheart of Highland; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; and three nephews.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
