JERRY DUSEK obituary

Jerry Dusek, 89, a Havre-area retired farmer, died of natural causes Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at a Helena nursing home.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brad Ulgenes officiating. Burial will take place in the Highland Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the church.

He was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Hingham to Fred and Pauline (Rypal) Dusek and spent all but his last five years in Hill County, where he farmed and worked in construction and carpentry. He attended school in Box Elder and graduated from Box Elder High School.

He farmed for many years retiring in 1987.

Jerry married Evelyn Danielson in Westby on Nov. 5, 1945. They lived in Havre, where they raised four children.

Jerry enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and hunting and fishing with his family. He had a special fondness for family get-togethers and traditional Czech and Norwegian pastries.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; and brother, Fred Dusek Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Gayle (Robert) Padmos of Montana City; sons, Gary Dusek of Bozeman, Doug (Cheryl) Dusek of Havre and Don Dusek of East Helena; sisters, Rose Brandt of Oxnard Calif., Lydia Rice of Cortez, Colo., Julia Pleskac and Mary Pleskac, both of Havre, and Betty Cloud of Greenville, Texas; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
