Lorraine D. Nordrum, 78, of Havre died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at Northern Montana Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Cremation has taken place. Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Dahle officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the church immediately after the memorial service.
Lorraine was born Oct. 31, 1927, in Racine, Wis., to Henry and Margaret Olson. She lived in California, then was informed that Arnold Nordrum had returned from Korea, so she returned to Minnesota.
They were married Sept. 8, 1946. They farmed in Minnesota, then they moved in 1954 to Gildford, where they had a small farm close to Arnold's brother Percy's farm. In 1955, they moved to Havre.
Lorraine was active in both First Lutheran Church and Messiah Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. She loved to care for other people. In 1974, Lorraine was certified as a licensed practical nurse and worked many years at Northern Montana Hospital in the pediatrics and obstetrics departments.
Lorraine was preceeded in death by her mother and father, Margaret and Henry Olson; husband, Arnold, on Dec. 16, 1978; brothers, Lester and Ernest; and sister, Aleda Jacobson.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Lynne) Nordrum of Bayview, Idaho, Sandy (Bob) O'Leary of North Bend, Wash., Roger Nordrum of Havre, Keith (Janet) Nordrum of Havre, Shelly (Tim) Hauge of Odessa, Wash., and Shannon (Karl) Verploegen of Havre; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Olson Jr. of Lodi, Calif.; sister, Gladyce Hammer, Fosston, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Grace Nordrum (our Angel) and Adeline Nelson.
