BREMERTON, Wash. - Frances Leona Bitz, 79, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, in Bremerton.
A memorial service will be held Friday at the Vintage in Bremerton. A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Havre in the spring.
Frances was born Nov. 14, 1926, at Havre to Christ and Leona (Kramlich) Gomke. She attended school at Kremlin.
She married Elmer Norstrom. They had two sons and later divorced.
In 1965, she married Daniel D. Bitz. They divorced.
Fran started her employment at the Elks Club in Havre. She also worked at Buttrey Department Store, Patterson's and Marguerite's. In 1986, Fran moved to the Seattle area, living for awhile on the Hood Canal at Kingston.
While living at Bremerton, she enjoyed square dancing, card playing and traveling. Her friends at the Vintage at Bremerton, her church and the Sons of Norway were a great source of support for her.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Allen Norstrom and Dick Norstrom; sisters, Annie Beattie, Irene Swartz and Ellanora (Red) Larson; and special friend, Rudy Nelson.
Survivors include her sister, Alma Klobofski of Havre; brothers, Mel (Judi) Gomke of Havre and Don Gomke of Kremlin; grandsons, Rich (Lisa) Norstrom of Helena and Wade (Holly) Bitz of Box Elder; granddaughters, Tami Norstrom of Seattle, Kim Norstrom and Lisa (Jeff) Werre of Kent, Wash.; special granddaughters, Danielle Bitz of Seattle and Vicki Ostrom of Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
