BREAUX BRIDGE, La. - James “Jamey” or “J.T.” Weatherly, 27, of Breaux Bridge, La., died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Breaux Bridge. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jamey was born in Havre on Aug. 16, 1978. He spent most of his adult life in the Breaux Bridge area. He was a jockey at Evangeline Downs Race Track; he had a real love for horses. He enjoyed Sunday barbecues with his wife and kids, fishing, and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Darla Weatherly Chagnon.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Stokes Weatherly; sons, Blaze Jeremiah Weatherly and Bailey James Weatherly; daughter, Katherine Clair Weatherly, all of Henderson, La .; mother and stepfather, Norma and Lonnie Cleveland of Rosepine, La .; father and stepmother, James Ed Weatherly and Maureen of Havre; sisters, Sherry (Tim) Snelson of Midland, Texas, and Kelly (Cliff) Harris of Reddick, Fla .; brother, Paul (Amy) Cleveland of Woodstock, Ga .; and maternal grandmother, Valdeen Watson of Rosepine, La.
