DOROTHY MARIE MOXLEY obituary

CHINOOK - Dorothy Marie Moxley, 65, died at home on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at 1 p.m. in the Lloyd Sweet Auditorium.

Born on Sept. 10, 1940, to Arthur E. McLeish Jr. and Susan B. (Fish) McLeish, Dorothy spent most of her younger years living in Chinook, with her summers helping out on the family's TU Ranch south of the Bear Paws.

While attending Chinook High School, she met the love of her life, Clair Moxley. They were married in Chinook on Dec. 27, 1958, and moved to San Diego, Calif., for the next four years while Clair served in the U.S. Navy. Shortly after his tour of duty, they returned to Montana.

Dorothy was well known for her expertise in cooking and used that skill well over the next 20-plus years at the local school, the senior center and the Sweet Nursing Home. Along with cooking, she kept busy attending her four children's many activities, showing great support while they were growing up. After her children were grown, she enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, shopping, traveling with her husband, having coffee with her friends, and being part of many organizations such as Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur McLeish III. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Clair Moxley of Chinook; sons, Terry Moxley and Dan Moxley, both of Chinook; daughters, Tammy Ellison of Chinook and Brenda Lucas of Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Betty Smith of Springfield, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.

Keeping in mind Dorothy's love of animals, especially dogs, all memorial contributions may be made to the PAWS organization, P.O. Box 132, Chinook, MT 59523.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
