RICHARD IHNOT obituary

Richard Patrick Ihnot, 51, died in Pampanga, Philippines, on Monday, Dec. 12, 2005.

His service was held at St. Jude Catholic Church last Tuesday. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.

Richard was born Sept. 18, 1954, to John and Phyllis (Walsh) Ihnot in Glasgow. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, Monroe Public School, Butte Junior High School, Nashua High School and Glasgow High School.

He live in Kalispell with his wife, Violy Agustin Ihnot. Together they ran Handyman and Lady, a service business. During the time he lived in Kalispell, he was employed by Kings Buffet, Vacationer Hotel and the Outlaw Hotel, where he earned a best employee award. At one time he operated a secondhand shop in Kalispell and an upholstery shop in Columbia Falls. Richard also worked as a fish tank operator in Alaska and at Stauffer Chemical in Butte. He was a jack of all trades.

Richard was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed football so much that he would often watch multiple TV screens at one time. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people. He traveled around the United States and visited Canada, Alaska, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

Richard enjoyed riding his motorcycle, building model boats, and collecting carved wooden boxes. He also enjoyed running the gate at the Valley County Fair horse races in Glasgow, fresh water fish tanks, a good snowball fight and chocolate chip cookies.

Richard was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Joe; mother; sister, Rosalia; and brother, Jackie.

Survivors include his wife, Violy Agustine Ihnot of Kalispell; father, John Ihnot of Glasgow; daughter, Angie Morrow of Kalispell; two grandchildren; sisters, Constance Casavan of Ventura, Calif., Patricia Ihnot of Havre, Susan (Larry) Bentsen of Birmingham, England, and Rachel Ihnot of Helena; brother, Mike Ihnot of Kent, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nehews.
