NORMA STROMBERG obituary

Norma Stromberg, 79, of Havre died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place and her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Tim Maroney officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later time. A fellowship luncheon will be held immediately after the service and the location will be announced at the service.

Norma, the only child of Fred and Agnes (Stremcha) Vavra, was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Havre. She graduated from Havre High School and spent her entire life here.

Norma met Orvil Stromberg and they were married April 6, 1947. Norma was a bookkeeper for various businesses in Havre. She was the owner of Stromberg's Husky, now known as Stromberg's Sinclair, with her husband for many years. After retiring, they spent many happy years wintering in Indio, Calif., where she especially enjoyed playing bingo.

Norma enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, quilting and taking care of her rose and flower gardens. The highlight of her life was becoming a grandmother, a job she excelled at and never tired of.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Orvil.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen (Bill) Evans of Havre; son, Howard (Mary Clair McGuire) Stromberg of Havre; grandchildren, Brian Evans, Jennifer (Evans) Spring, Keith Stromberg, Angie Gerhart; stepgrandson, Courtney Welch; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Norma's honor can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
