TURNER - Leon M. Cederberg, 77, of Great Falls and formerly of Turner, died of natural causes Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at the Peace Hospice Facility in Great Falls.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Turner American Lutheran Church with burial following in the Turner Cemetery.
Leon was born on June 8, 1928, in Glasgow to Aben and Jewell (Adams) Cederberg. He attended schools in Turner, Kalispell and graduated from Turner High School in 1946.
He married Nellie Staples in Chinook on Nov. 22, 1951. Leon started farming with his uncle Gust Cederberg as a teenager and continued until 1997.
Leon was instrumental in obtaining improvements to Highway 241, and getting television to the Big Flat area. He served on the Blaine County Farm Committee, Turner Cemetery Board, Turner School Board, Turner Park Board and numerous other boards for many years. He was a charter member of the Hogeland Turner Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1969; mother in 2004; and brother-in-law, Keith Cowan.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Cederberg of Great Falls; sons, Max (Kristi) Cederberg of Tuner, Dale (Lynda) Cederberg of Moccasin and Jay (Aleta) Cederberg of Billings; three grandsons; sisters, Donna (Melvin) VanWechel of Mesa, Ariz., and Theresa Cowan of Havre; brothers, Brice (Glenna) Cederberg of Stevenville and Larry (Roberta) Cederberg of Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be sent to the Hogeland Turner Lions Club or a charity one's choice.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
