CHINOOK - Georgia Lewis Ijams, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Northern Montana Hospital due to natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Presbyterian Church in Chinook.
Georgia was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Portland, Ore., to Frank and Etta (Blaydon) Lewis. The family moved to Montana in 1915 and lived in Valier, Park City, Hardin, Miles City and moved to Chinook in 1930. Georgia graduated from Chinook High School in 1931 and received a four-year scholarship to Northern Montana College. Georgia attended Northern Montana College and graduated from Great Falls Business College.
She married Charles E. Ijams on Sept. 24, 1934 and they divorced in 1948. Georgia worked for 18 years for the Social and Rehabilitation Services as a secretary in Chinook and Helena. She retired in 1979.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Northern Star Chapter of the Eastern Star, Eagles Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Miriam Hilliard.
Survivors include her son, Terry Ijams of Magnolia, Miss., two grandsons in Colorado; five great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Memorials can be sent to the Presbyterian Church or Chinook Senior Citizen Center.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
