EARL STILLAR obituary

SPOKANE, Wash. - Earl Lewis Stillar, 86, of Spokane, Wash., died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at Spokane.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division in Spokane. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery in Spokane.

Earl was born June 5, 1919, in Havre. He graduated from Havre High School in 1937. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a signalman.

He was later employed at the Great Northern and Burlington Northern railways for 43 years as a telegrapher. He retired in 1981. Earl also worked at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls for 10 years.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and enjoyed outdoor activities.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; children, Lois Brittenham of Yuba City, Calif., Earleen Moore of Spokane, Denise Schmitz of Williston, N.D., Charlene Stenson of Spokane, Charles Stillar of Greenacres, Wash., Charlotta Pearl of Sequim, Wash., Cheri Stillar of Seven Bays, Wash., and Richard Stillar of Nine Mile Falls, Wash .; former wife, Vivian Ostert, the mother of his children; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
