LILLIAN OWENS obituary

Lillian Mae (Clink) Owens, 89, of Rudyard died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rudyard. A luncheon will follow. Lillian's ashes will be buried later this summer at the Highland Cemetery in Havre.

Lillian was born Oct. 8, 1916, at Hingham to Elwin and Cassie (Geesy) Clink. Lillian grew up on the family farm in the Minneota community north of Rudyard. She received her early education at country schools, then graduated from Rudyard High School.

Lillian married Clive D. Owens on Sept. 21, 1940, at Havre. They made their home on the Owens homestead 25 miles north of Inverness throughout their married life. Lillian enjoyed her role as homemaker, farm wife, and mother of three. They had been married 52 years when Clive died Sept. 23, 1992. The following year, Lillian moved to the Clink farm. She lived there until this past summer, when her health began to fail. In June, she transferred to the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook.

She received her religious upbringing at the Goldstone Lutheran Church, where she maintained her membership and had been active in the W.E.L.C.A. She was also a past member of the Minneota Friendly Club and had participated in local 4-H programs.

Lillian enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and reading. She liked to attend rummage sales and also enjoyed playing cards, especially kings in the corners and crazy eights. She loved caring for her many house plants. She collected salt-and-pepper shakers and cups and saucers.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, George Clink; and sisters, Lucille Lathrop and Minnie Uhrhammer.

Survivors include her daughters, Sherrie Harrold of Chinook and Patsy Owens of Inverness; son, Kyle (Bobbi) Owens of Inverness; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nephews and nieces.

Memorials will be given to the Goldstone Lutheran Church, the American Heart Association, or the donor's choice.
