EDWARD CHINSKE obituary

Edward Lee Chinske, 71, of Havre died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Northern Montana Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.

His memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with Tim Maroney officiating. A fellowship luncheon will be held at St. Jude Parish Center immediatley after the memorial service. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service with full military honors will be held at a later time.

Edward was born June 6, 1934 in Miles City to Edward and Margaret (Johnson) Chinske. His family moved to Missoula, where Edward graduated from High School. He entered into the United States Army in 1953 and served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1955. He attended University of Montana and then Carroll College. He entered the School of Dentistry at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Upon completion of his degree, Edward did his post-doctoral internship at the V.A. Hospital in Wood, Wis. He then moved back to Montana, where he operated his private family practice in Lewistown from 1965 to 1969. In 1970, he moved to Havre to establish his private practice and family general dentistry. Edward specialized in full-mouth reconstruction, preventative dentistry and TMJ, and myofacial pain treatment.

Edward met Cornelia Groenewegen in Havre. The couple married July 19, 1974, and raised their three daughters in Havre.

Edward had many achievements throughout his career. He was a member of the 11th and 12th District Dental Societies, was the local chairman of the Children's Dental Health Week in 1978-79, served on the Delta Dental board of directors, Montana Dental Association and the Montana Department of Health Dental Division for the Mentally Handicapped.

Edward was very active in the community, serving on the HELP Committee, Rotary, Elks, American Red Cross, Havre Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. He also served as a pilot on charter flights and as a flying instructor.

Edward enjoyed fly-fishing, camping, driving big rigs, traveling, joking around and flying planes. He enjoyed spending time at the local Railroad Museum, building on the model trains and helping with their projects.

He began N E Where Trucking with his daughter Margaret in October 1998. On June 6, 1999, he retired from dentistry and drove his rig full time.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister Mary.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Cornelia Chinske of Havre; daughters, Cheryl (Bruce) Fanshaw of Fallbrook, Calif., Cathy (Shane) Huston of Havre and Margaret (Neal) Clark of Phillipsburg; granddaughters, Sydne, Camryn and Shelby Huston, all of Havre; and brothers, John (Pam) Chinske and Louis Chinske, all of Missoula.
