GREAT FALLS - Robert W. Syth, 82, of Great Falls died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Northern Montana Hospital of congestive heart failure.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Croxford Rose Room in Great Falls, with burial in Highland Cemetery.
Robert was born June 24, 1923, to Guy and Edith Syth in Warner, N.D. He was raised in Malta and graduated from Malta High School. He attended welding school in Butte and worked in the shipyard in Bremerton, Wash. He joined the Army in 1944 and returned to Montana upon his discharge. He went into road construction.
Robert married Doris Holeman on Nov. 4, 1941. They later divorced.
On Dec. 26, 1969, he married Kathryn Waymire Culbertson. After retirement, Bob and Kay spent many winters traveling in the RV.
Bob loved music. He was an accomplished piano, keyboard, guitar and accordion player. He preferred classic country western music. He had a love for life and everything it offered.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Vukasin.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn of Havre; daughters, Kaye (Boo) Bonner of Morgan City, La., Bobbie (Chuck) Burns of Youngsville, N.C., and Ruth (Bob) Vukasin of Havre; son, Lyle (Donna) Culbertson of Las Vegas, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
