EDWARD HAMMLER obituary

Edward Hammler, 71, of Havre died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Northern Montana Care Center after a long courageous battle with Cancer.

A memorial service was scheduled for today at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow with military honors in Highland Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

Edward was born November 3, 1934 in Minot, North Dakota to Harold and Emma (Anderson) Hammler. The family moved to Fairview, Montana when he was six years old and was there until he joined the Army where he was stationed in Germany.

He married Kay M. Johnson on June 14, 1959, and lived in Fairview. They later moved to Sidney, where two of their children were born - Margaret Kay on Aug. 14, 1960, and Robert Edward Oct. 20, 1961. They moved to Scobey, where their third child, Lee Anthony, was born on Sept. 6, 1964. A short time later, they moved back to Sidney for a brief time, then to Great Falls. In 1974, they moved to Havre where he worked for Columbia Paint, until he retired in 1996. In his retirement, he became very well known for his scroll sawing abilities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.

Survivors include his wife; three children and their spouses; eight grandchildren that he enjoyed very much; a sister and brother-in-law; and one niece.
