ARTHUR HAUGE obituary

TURNER - Arthur Hauge, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at Benefis Healthcare in Great Falls due to a blood clot resulting in heart failure.

The celebration of Art's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Turner Lutheran Church with Jack Siemens officiating.

Arthur was born April 15, 1918, to Martin and Mabel (Banta) Hauge, at the home of a midwife in Harlem. He attended Polly Country School and graduated from Turner High School in 1935. He later attended aircraft mechanics school in Burbank, Calif.

Art survived the Great Depression working in CCCs and in construction of the Fort Peck Dam. In World War II, Art served with the 14th Air Corps Flying Tigers in China, Burma and India. He had many talents from music to woodworking and farmed for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Ruth Elizabeth Mohar.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara Hauge of Turner; sons, Dave Hauge of North Slope, Alaska, Dan (Linda) Hauge of Havre, Dwight (Alice) Hauge of Kremlin and Darel (Linda) Hauge of Turner; foster daughters, Maria Walker of Fort Belknap and Ida Purvis of Bossier City, La.; two granddaughters; six grandsons; one foster granddaughter; nine foster grandsons; four stepgrandsons; two great-grandchildren; and a foster great-granddaughter Jordan Rae Yazza; and the children of Joshua Horn.
