WADE MESSERLY obituary

FORT BELKNAP - Wade L. Messerly, 52, of Fort Belknap, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at his residence in Half Town due to congestive heart failure.

A funeral service was scheduled for this morning in the Red Whip Center with burial following in the Malta Cemetery.

Wade was born on Feb. 4, 1952, at Fort Belknap Agency to Edward “Beans” and Loretta (Kelsey) Messerly. Wade was raised in the Harlem and Fort Belknap area and graduated from Harlem High School.

He worked as a miner, ranch laborer, carpenter and general labor in the area.

Wade was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Ray Messerly, and his mother, Loretta Messerly.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Tipton Messerly of Fort Belknap; son, Wade Messerly Jr. of Osburn, Idaho; daughters, Natacha Messerly of Harlem, Erica (Bill) Valentine of Idaho, Kollette Messerly, Heather Messerly, Diana Messerly, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; stepchildren, Robert Upham of Seattle, Wash., Lailani O'Donnell of Warner Robin, Ga., Charlene Perry of Fort Belknap, Francois Pepion of St. Ignatius, Allena Bird of Havre, William Pepion of Montana and Stewart Pepion of Browning; father, Edward “Beans,” and stepmother, Mary Messerly of Harlem; brother, Gary Messerly of Billings; sisters, Candance Getten of Emporia, Kan., Pat (Dean) Doney of Fort Belknap, Julie Messerly of Great Falls, Gayle (Charles) Hart of Billings, Val “Sis” (Willis) Chopwood of Lodge Pole and Tammy (Alvin) Doney of Fort Belknap; numerous grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and special nephew, Bill Messerly.
