ROCKY BOY - Josephine Rock Weiss, 65, died Sunday, Oct, 16, 2005, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.
Her wake service began Monday afternoon. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy. Burial will follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.
Josephine was born Dec. 12, 1939, at Rocky Boy to Edward and Maimee (Smith) Rock. She was raised in Rocky Boy. She married Gary Lee Weiss in June of 1969.
She was self-educated and taught herself the English language. She obtained her GED at the Air Force base in Glasgow. She and her husband moved to Washington state in the 1980s. Josephine moved home in 2001 after her husband died.
Josephine was a homemaker who enjoyed powwows, bingo and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Lee Weiss; stepson, Kevin Weiss; aunt, Agnes Gopher; and grandson, Jay-Lynn Limberhand.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Camille Rebecca “Sissy” (James) Weiss; adopted daughters, Rose Valenzuela of Browning, Veda Parker of Rocky Boy; sons, Avery Gladeau and Justin (Cheryl) Weiss, both of Rocky Boy; stepson, Gary Lee Weiss Jr. of Duluth, Minn .; sisters, Emma Lou Rock, Linda Gopher and Kathleen Gopher, all of Rocky Boy, and Lorena Four Souls of Havre; brothers, Albert Rock of Santa Monica, Calif., John Rock of Rocky Boy, Richard Rock of California, and Russell Gopher and Robert Gopher of Rocky Boy; 23 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
