LEO MOORE obituary

CHINOOK - Leo W. Moore, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home due to natural causes.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel.

Leo was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Chinook to John (Jack) and Goldie (Houn) Moore. He was raised on the Moore Family Ranch in the Bear Paw Mountains. Leo attended school at Riedel and graduated from Chinook High School in 1933.

He married Mary E. Fredlund in Havre on June 2, 1933. Leo ranched in the Bear Paws in the summer, moved to Chinook to work at the U & I Sugar factory and Burgess Implement Co. in the winter. He moved to Chinook and worked at Matulka's Garage, DePriest GMC Sales, Chinook Equipment and spent 19 years with Farmers Union.

Leo was a member of the search and rescue team. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and spending time at his cabin on the Moore Ranch.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Moore in 1999; brothers, Paul and Harold Moore; sister, Gladys Morelli; and two infant granddaughters.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Ann (Clyde) Walker of Great Falls, Lenore (Doug) Stam of Polson and Marlene (Ang) Pizzini of Havre; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Benefis Gift of Life Foundation for housing in Great Falls.
