JUNE DOLEZAL obituary

CHESTER - June Elrid Dolezal, 74, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, surrounded by her family at Liberty County Hospital in Chester of complications related to diabetes.

A funeral Mass was scheduled for 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester. A luncheon was to follow. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Sunburst Cemetery.

June was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Shelby to Edward and Ethel (Barnes) McDermott. June was raised in Sunburst and received her formal education there.

She married Valerian ”Jack“ Dolezal on Aug. 25, 1952, in Sunburst. During their 53 years of married life together, they lived at Whitlash, Turner, Shelby, Harlem and Chester, and raised a family of five children.

June was raised in the Catholic faith at Sunburst. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fancy work, especially tatting, crocheting and embroidery. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, mainly pinochle, and playing Yahtzee. Her favorite pastime was her large doll collection.

June was proud of her family heritage. She was the granddaughter of Rodney Barnes, who was credited with discovering gold near Gold Butte. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She kept close contact with family and friends by her daily phone calls and sending flowers on special occasions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ethel McDermott; sister, Ethel Verona McDermott; brothers, Rodney and Jack McDermott; and infant grandson, Aaron Dolezal.

Survivors include her husband, Valerian Dolezal of Chester; sons, Patrick (Mindy) Dolezal of Castle Rock, Colo., Jack (Melissa) Dolezal of Marysville, Wash., Richard (Debora) Dolezal of Havre and Tom Dolezal of Chester; daughter, Kathleen Dolezal (Kent Barnes) of Helena; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Wayne and James McDermott, both of Sandpoint, Idaho; and numerous other relatives, including her cousin, Gladys Morrison of Bozeman.

Memorials may be given to the Liberty County Hospital or a donor's choice.

Arrangements are by Rockman Funeral Chapel in Chester.
