SPOKANE, Wash. - Beverly D. Southern, 89, died at her home in Spokane on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, after a brief illness.
A graveside service was held Monday afternoon in Spokane Memorial Garden.
Beverly was born June 19, 1916, to Arthur and Cynthia Towe in Minneapolis. She grew up on her parents' farm at Box Elder. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1939 and taught school in Montana for several years.
In 1941, she married Earl Southern, moved to Spokane.
After their divorce in 1966, Beverly moved to Seattle until her retirement when she moved to Spokane.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jim, in 1971; and sister, Dorothy.
Survivors include William E. Southern Jr. of Spokane, and three nieces, Tana Tester Brende and Candace Tester Swanson of Spokane, Susan Tester Maki of Helena.
