ROCKY BOY - Dolan Jake SunChild, Ki-hew E-me-o Yah-Tah-k (Hooping Eagle), 19, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at Benefis Hospital of respiratory failure.
His funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial was to follow at their family plot at Eagle Lookout located near the Laredo Road.
Dolan was born Sept. 3, 1986, to Darrell and Winona (LaMere) SunChild. He was raised and educated in Rocky Boy and graduated from Rocky Boy High School in 2004 with high honors. He continued his education at Stone Child College, where he remained on the honor roll before falling ill.
Dolan was a very bright person who could light up a room with his smile and laugh. He was very caring and had room in his heart for everyone whom he cared for. He loved playing video games, watching movies, visiting family and friends, chatting on the Internet and hanging out. He also enjoyed driving around and listening to music with friends and was very easygoing and laid back. He loved to spend time with his godchild, Tyresse SunChild, whom he adored very much.
Dolan was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ned SunChild, John Roddy SunChild, Theodore LaMere Sr. and Edward Two Teeth.
Survivors include his parents, Darrell and Winona SunChild of Box Elder; sister, Darcey SunChild of Rocky Boy; brothers, Darrell (Joelyn) SunChild Jr. of Seattle, Wash., Dustin (Jacintha) SunChild, Dwight SunChild and Dalton SunChild, all of Box Elder, and Channing Demontiny of Great Falls; godchild, Tyresse SunChild of Box Elder; grandmothers, Rose Bernard, Mary Taylor and Mary Jane LaMere, all of Box Elder; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorials are suggested to one of your choice.
