ROSE HAMILTON obituary

Rose May Hamilton, 95, of Havre died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Crema-tion has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with a fellowship to follow at the TownHouse Inns Townhouse Apartment Hospitality Room. A private family interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery at a later time.

Rose was born May 3, 1910, to Philip and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Field in Havre. She was educated in Havre.

She married Pete Hamilton. They were married for 57 years until his death in 1984. Pete was a machinist and then a foreman at the Great Northern Railway diesel shop and was elected mayor of Havre.

Rose was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren. She had many talents. She was a beautiful seamstress and was very creative with ceramics. Rose designed more than 1,000 beaded necklaces that she made for family and friends, many of which were purchased right off her neck. She was an avid reader, an NABC master duplicate bridge player and rode horse back until her mid 80s. She loved to bowl, dance, swim and ride her bike.

Rose lived in Havre the first 60 years of her life. After Pete retired from the Great Northern Railway, they became snow birds, traveling to Mesa, Ariz., for the winters and returning to Havre in the summer. She spent the last several years at the Eagles Manor in Havre.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete Hamilton in 1984; daughters, Gail Hamilton and Roberta "Bobby" Leonetti; brothers, Victor and Philip Field; sisters, Julia Sullivan and Kathryn Moss.

Survivors include her daughter, Ardeth "Ardy" (Jim) McLeod of Georgetown Lake; son-in-law, Lou Leonetti of Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Rose's honor may be made to the Eagles Manor, 20 Third St. W., Havre, MT 59501.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
