BIGFORK - Arnold O. Lund, 88, of Bigfork and formerly of Havre, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, surrounded by the love of his family at Brendan House in Kalispell.
Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Havre at 2 p.m. Saturday with a luncheon following.
Arnold was born on Aug. 29, 1916, to Olaf and Lena Lund at Simpson.
Arnold Lund and Ethel Boice were married on June 12, 1946.
Arnold served in the Army Air Corps in the beginning of World War II. He then transitioned into work for Boeing in Seattle building B27s and B17s. He then came home to Simpson and farmed the place his parents homesteaded when they arrived here from Norway.
After retiring Arnold and Ethel lived in Havre, then moved to Chinook for a short period of time before moving to Bigfork.
Arnold was preceded in death by his bride of 57 years, Ethel; and son, Allan Lund.
Survivors include his daughters, Jeanne (Carl) Thomason of Aurora, Colo., and Sherry (Harry) Wood of Bigfork; sons, Larry (Connie) Lund and Stanley (Micki) Lund, all of Havre; brothers, Ole Lund of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ivar (Helen) Lund of Redlands, Calif.; sister, Ann Lund-Miller of Wauneta, Neb.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice.
