MICHAEL YELLOW ROBE obituary

FORT BELKNAP - Michael Lee "Bruce" Yellow Robe, 39, a firefighter and construction worker, drowned in the Milk River on Friday, Aug. 19, 2005.

A wake, rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Red Whip Recreation Center at Fort Belknap. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Red

Whip Recreation Center, with burial in the Highway Church Cemetery.

Bruce was born July 30, 1966, at Fort Belknap to Rose L. Yellow Robe and Ralph Wayne. Bruce was also known as "Bread Truck." He had four children with Lenora Lamebull. In his younger days, Bruce attended Lodge Pole Elementary School and Wahpeton Boarding School. He attended Hays/Lodge Pole High School, where he played basketball as a Thunderbird. He also attended Flandreau Indian School. Bruce continued his education to a higher level and attended Fort Belknap College. Bruce worked in construction and as a firefighter. He enjoyed cruising with "his boys," his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Neal Weigand and Darryl Wayne; aunts, Ruby Plain Feather, Sylvia Kucate and Margaret "Peggy" Ball; cousin, Karen Clark; and nephew, Douglas Snell Jr.

Survivors include his daughters, Tashina Yellow Robe and Adrianna (Millard) Yellow Robe, both of Fort Belknap, Corliss Yellow Robe and Natalha Yellow Robe, both of Las Vegas, Nev .; brother, Richard Nicholson of Great Falls; nephews, Talon Nicholson and Steven Weigand; aunts, Stella (Indian) Main and Erma (Terrance) Jackson, both of Fort Belknap; uncles, Johnny Main and Byron "Barney" Yellow Robe, both of Fort Belknap, Richard Small of Rocky Boy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
