JUNE CORBITT obituary

WALKERVILLE - June Cady Corbitt, 85, of Walkerville died Monday, Aug. 8, 2001, at her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation will take place following the Mass with private interment of ashes to be held at a later date.

She was born on June 3, 1920, in Kremlin to Harry W. and Rose M. (Vosen) Cady. She attended grade school in Kremlin and graduated from high school in Gildford. June attended Northern Montana College and St. James School of Nursing. She worked at the Town Club in Uptown Butte and St. James Hospital from 1952 to 1986.

June married Daniel J. Corbitt on Oct. 1, 1940, in St. Patrick's Church. He died on March 11, 1989.

June was active with the Walkerville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, National Association of Retired Federal Empolyees, where she held local and state office, Teamsters, Retired St. James Nurses and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and St. Patrick's Parish.

June enjoyed gardening and crocheting and was especially proud of all the afgans she crocheted for each of her grandchildren's high school graduations. She also wrote poetry and had several poems published. June looked forward to the holidays and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents; sister, Helen Gillette; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and John McCormick, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Betty Corbitt, Margaret and George McManus, Ella and Al Nevin.

Survivors include her sons, Joe (Patsy) Corbitt of Butte, Dan (Sharon) Corbitt of Denver; daughters, Rose (Tim) Crowley of Billings, Mary (Glenn) Lewis of Butte; brother, Willis (Dorothy) Cady; sisters, Lorraine (Bob) Eyman and Carol (Cliff) Heggen, all of the Havre area; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Highland Hospice or to Our Lady of the Rockies.
