MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Martha Martina Ohland, 89, longtime Moses Lake, Wash., resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Private family services will be held at Kayser's Chapel of Memories.
Martha was born Nov. 17, 1915 in Charboneau, N.D., to the late Martina and
Philander Yates. She graduated from Havre High School in 1933.
Martha married her high school sweetheart, Hermie Ohland, in 1935. They then moved to Walla Walla, Wash. In 1941, they relocated to Ritzville, Wash., and settled in Moses Lake in 1953.
Martha and Hermie opened The Towne Shop in 1959. They owned and operated the women's boutique until 1974.
She was a loving wife, devoted mother and doting grandmother and great-grandmother, a charter member of Moses Lake Golf and Country Club, avid golfer, excellent Gordon bridge player and superior cook. Martha was a beautiful and elegant lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, George and Phil Yates; sister Ann Renaker; and grandson, Scott Owen.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Hermie Ohland; daughter, Janet (Dean) Owen; son, Bill (Sherry) Ohland; brother, Byron Yates; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of one's choice.
