TULSA, Okla. - Jan Miller, 59, of Tulsa, Okla., died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in her home of natural causes.
A memorial service was held at World Outreach Church in Tulsa on July 14. A memorial service is scheduled for Jan at 11 a.m. on July 29 at Victory Christian
Center at 3220 11th Ave. S. in Great Falls.
Jan Miller was born Nov. 28, 1945, in Havre to George and Renette Turbak. She was raised in Havre and graduated from Havre Central High School in 1964.
She married Terry La Valley and moved to Joplin in 1967. Jan was very involved in many ministries in the Catholic church throughout the Hi-Line and north-central Montana. Afflicted with muscular dystrophy, a disease which greatly limited her physical abilities throughout the years, Jan was very involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and attended and appeared on the "Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon" many times.
In 1983, Jan was divorced and moved to Great Falls, where she continued her many philanthropic efforts and was an active member of Victory Christian Center of Great Falls. There Jan met the love of her life, John Miller, and was married in November of 1987. In November of 2002, Jan and John moved to Tulsa, Okla., where she remained until her passing.
Jan deeply loved her husband, children and grandchildren, but it was her love for her Lord and savior Jesus Christ that drove her to touch and influence countless lives throughout the years.
Survivors include her husband, John Miller of Tulsa; daughter, Lisa (Bret) Walker of Bozeman; son, Jeff (Julie) LaValley of Ellensburg, Wash.; sisters, Judy (Ed) Matter of Havre, Jeanne (Mike) Kase of Billings and Julie Turbak of Havre; and eight grandchildren.
