CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Margaret Chisholm, 85, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at her home in Carpenteria, Calif., of natural causes.
A memorial service was held at Carpinteria Community Church on July 9.
Margaret was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Opheim to Johan and Matilda Oien.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Paul and Palmer.
Margaret was educated in Opheim Public Schools and at Northern Montana College.
She was married in 1942 to Kenneth Chisholm in Butte.
Margaret was a devoted wife and mother, a loving homemaker and also followed a career she enjoyed as secretary.
She served as secretary to the management of General Electric's Center for Advanced Studies for 24 years, retiring in 1981 to her home in Carpinteria.
She was a faithful member of Carpinteria Community Church and member of the Scottish Society of Santa Barbara. Margaret was a woman of courage and inner strength, determined to live and be of support for her family in spite of ever failing health.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth James Chisholm of Carpinteria; daughter, Elaine (James) Long of Boise, Idaho; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
