GLADYS BIALEK obituary

Gladys Bialek, 94, of Havre died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at the Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

A prayer vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Jude's Catholic

Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.

Gladys was born March 26, 1911, to Guy and Olga (Holen) Hockett in a small room above her father's barber shop in Havre. Gladys was raised and educated in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1929. After graduation, she entered the work force, holding several office positions throughout her life. She last worked for Valley Furniture as the bookkeeper, retiring in 1972.

Gladys married John Wodarz in 1943. They farmed for many years south of Havre, until they retired and left the management of the farm to the Hockett family. John died March 31, 1976.

In 1977, Gladys married Leo Bialek of Rudyard. Gladys moved to the Rudyard community. Together the couple enjoyed traveling the country in their RV, spending time with their friends and were very active in the senior center. Wherever they went, Gladys was always remembered by people as the cheerful little lady with a continuous smile on her face. Leo died Sept. 12, 1998.

Gladys enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, sewing, crocheting, playing the organ and spending time with her family. She was a very happy, caring and generous person.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Wodarz in 1976; second husband, Leo Bialek in 1998; and one sister, Lorraine Hockett.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Wodarz Toscano of Mexico; brother, Clarence Hockett of California; sister, Doris Evans of Conden, Wash .; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Glady's honor are suggested to the Northern Montana Care Center or a memorial of one's choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
