LEONARD WAVRICK obituary

Leonard Owen Wavrick, 62, of Havre died Saturday, June 18, 2005, due to an accidental fall while working in the evening in his shop.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church with a reception following at the Elks Lodge. Burial with military honors will

be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Alice Nash Memorial Cemetery on the Lone Tree Bench.

Leonard was born on March 11, 1942, in Bigfork to Steve and Edith (Volkman) Wavrick. He graduated from Havre High School and attended Northern Montana College as well as other work related schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962 and attended various schools in the service.

Leonard had worked for the John Deere Company, Baltrusch Construction for 23 years, Valley Motors for 17 years, as well as farming and ranching for the last 50 years.

Leonard married Carol Berger on March 23, 1966, at the First Lutheran Church in Havre. He was a member of the Elks Club, past member of Lions Club, Boy Scouts, and Northern Montana College instructor and served four years on the Hill County Planning Board.

His hobbies included models, playing cribbage, doing puzzles, fishing, camping, traveling, old cars, music, mechanics, and collecting comics and antiques. Leonard was always good with his hands, had an incredible eye for detail, and analyzed every situation thoroughly. He was a proud military man, a good husband, and a wonderful father - he loved life.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Wavrick Harden, and father, Steve Wavrick.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Wavrick of Havre; daughter, Michelle Wavrick of Havre; son, Lowell Wavrick of Missoula; mother, Edith Wavrick of Havre; sister, Shirley Mitchell of Kalispell; and grandchildren, Levi and Zachary Wavrick.

Memorials may be sent to the Hope Project with the Montana Highway Patrol Foundation.
