ARDELLE HURLBURT obituary

Ardelle C. Hurlburt, 74, of Havre and former Havre city judge, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at her residence in Havre.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Zoe Coutts officiating. A private family graveside service will be held. A fellowship luncheon will be held immediately after the memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

Ardelle was born in Victor, Colo., on Dec. 31, 1930, to Earl and Flora (Smith) Chambers. She attended schools in Victor, Colo., and graduated

from

Colorado State College of Education at Greeley, Colo.

Ardelle married Jim Hurlburt on June 17, 1956, in Shiprock, N.M.

Ardelle had many different jobs during her life. She was a clerk at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., and editorial assistant for Sandia Corp. in New Mexico. She worked in the publicity department at Northern Montana College part time. She worked for Schmidt, Smith, Rush Electrical Engineers formerly called Fussel Engineering, and was a freelance writer for a newspaper. She was a city judge in Havre.

Ardelle was very involved with community work and volunteering. She was the president of the League of Women Voters of Great Falls, Havre and Montana for 12 years, the first woman president of Kiwanis of Havre, board member of the Clack Foundation, Northern Montana Care Center volunteer, member of the city council, deacon and elder at First Presbyterian Church of Havre, local coordinator for AARP tax aid service, president of Presbyterian Women's Club, member of the women's golf association over a 20 year period, and a member of the Democratic Party for many years.

Ardelle was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James Hurlburt.

Ardelle is survived by daughter Renee (Dale) Ratliff of Havre; son, James Murray (Laurie) Hurlburt of Havre; brothers, Robert (Eleanor) Chambers of Concord, Calif.; Eldon (Marty) Chambers of Long Beach, Calif.; and Milton (Molly) Chambers of Holly Springs, N.C; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clack Museum, First Presbyterian Church, or Bear Paw Hospice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

MICHAEL JAROSCAK obituary

LAUREL - Michael Jaroscak, 88, of Laurel and formerly of Havre, died at his residence in Laurel on Saturday, May 21, 2005.

Burial took place Wednesday in Havre. No services are planned at Michael's request.

Michael was born one of twins to Stephen and Susan Jaroscak on May 14, 1917, in Minneapolis. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and served until his discharge in October 1945. He earned many distinguished honors.

Michael married Helen Margaret Roley on May 5, 1943, in Muskogee, Okla. They lived in Havre from 1947 to 1993, where Mike worked for the Great Northern Railway as a carman for 30 years. He retired in 1978. He also worked as a furrier for the F.A. Buttrey Co. in Havre in the 1940s.

Michael was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havre and held many offices in the church, including church elder and trustee.

Mike was a talented carpenter and loved fixing things at his home and at the church. He grew beautiful gardens and took pride in his home and yard.

His wife, Helen, preceded him in death on Sept. 15, 1994.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda, who was born and raised in Havre.
