MICHAEL WOLF obituary

Michael H. Wolf, 87, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at a hospice facility in Hamilton of natural causes.

Michael's funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church in Havre, with the Rev. Rowlie Hutton offi-

ciating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the VFW Club immediately after the services at the graveside.

Michael was born Sept. 23, 1917, at his family home in Liberty County. He was raised and educated in Liberty County and attended Shonkin and Marias schools. Michael moved to Havre when he went to work for the Great Northern Burlington Northern Railway. He worked in the building and bridge department of the railroad. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps from February of 1942 to February of 1945 and was honorably discharged as sergeant first class. He returned to Havre to continue working for the railroad and retired in 1982 after 43 years. Michael moved to Corvalis, where he resided for the last nine years.

Michael was a very energetic person who was very active. He was known as the "Card Shark" of the Hamilton senior center. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed dancing and carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mickey Wolf; brothers, John, Joseph and Martin Wolf; and sisters, Emma, Catherine, Mary and Sylvia.

Survivors include his daughters, Linda Yeager of Minnesota, Iris Kay Wolf of California, Sherry Westiguard of Dagmar, Sandy Loendorf of Billings, Carol Schnittgen of Havre and Pam Tviet of California; sons, Terry Wolf, Larry Olson, David Wolf and Donald Wolf, all of Havre; sisters, Rose Rowe of Fort Benton and Sister Mary Gabriel of Davenport, Iowa; close friend for the last nine years, Ella Greenup of Hamilton; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Michael's honor may be made to the Senior Citizens Center in Hamilton.
