ANGELINE MCMULLEN obituary

LEWISTOWN - Angeline Kathryn McMullen, 83, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls.

A funeral liturgy was held Thursday morning at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown. Cremation followed the service with committal planned at the Plains Cemetery in Plains.

Angie was born May 12, 1921, to Christian and Kathryn (Byrne) Gebhardt on the family farm near Balta, N.D. She attended school in Peerless and graduated from Peerless High School in 1940.

After graduation, Angie moved to southern California, where she eventually met and married John D. McMullen. He died in 1963, leaving Angie to raise eight children. She worked in various positions, but the two she enjoyed most were as a teacher's aide for the Rialto Unified School District and with the Forestry Department as a vehicle maintenance scheduler. Angie also enjoyed quilting and sewing.

At the time of her death, Angie was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown. She was an avid reader and worked for a short time at the Vande Bogart Library at Montana State University-Northern in Havre with the bar coding system. She also worked as an aide at the Lewistown Public Library.

Angie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Paul in 1951 and Timothy in 1990; sister, Evelyn; and brothers, Clarence, John and Francis.

Survivors include her sons, John (Sue) McMullen of San Diego, Calif., Kevin (Linda) McMullen of San Bernardino, Calif., Russell (Connie) McMullen of Lewistown; daughters, Ann Minter of Apple Valley, Calif., Patricia (Steve) Andrews of Crestline, Calif., and Susan (Tom) McDaniel of Havre; sisters, Helen (Glenn) Williams of Helena and Ruth (Donald) Beam of Portland, Ore.; brothers, Jim Gebhardt of Four Buttes, Guy Gebhardt, Martin Gebhardt and Leo (Betty) Gebhardt, all of Plains, and LeRoy Gebhardt of Washington state; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lewistown Public Library or a charity of one's choice.

Cloyd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
