MARJORIE DAILEY obituary

STEVENSVILLE - Marjorie B. Dailey, 79, of Stevensville, a former Havre Daily News employee, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, of natural causes at the Bitterroot Living Center in Stevensville.

At her request, there will be no public services. Cremation has taken place and placement will be at the Lewistown City Cemetery at a later date.

She was born June 7, 1925, in Lewistown to Carlos and Carmen Wallace. As a young girl, she lived on the family ranch near Brooks and received her education in Brooks and Lewistown. That family ranch was later sold to her future in-laws.

In December 1940, she married Frank J. Sramek. In 1948, they moved back onto the ranch she grew up on and started raising their children there. They were divorced in 1960.

In October 1977, she married Arthur M. Dailey. They lived in Seeley Lake, Havre and Clarkston, Wash. Arthur passed away in August 1995. She then moved to Tacoma, Wash., to be near her daughter, Rose Mary. In 1997, she moved to Hamilton to spend time near her daughter, Margaret.

She spent most of her life cooking in restaurants, schools and senior centers. She and Art also had mail and paper routes.

Her interests were music and quilting. She made quilts for every one of Art's and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She played the piano for dances and the organ at church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Sramek and Arthur Dailey; brothers, Lynn, Conwell, Richard, Wayne and Loren; and sisters, Grace, Evelyn, Hazel, Gladys, Rosalie, Colleen, Lois, Jeanette and Shirley.

Survivors include her sister, Ethel of Great Falls; daughters, Rose Mary (Joe) Henry of Tacoma and Margaret "Maggie" (Chuck) Shulund of Stevensville; sons, Robert Sramek of Anchorage, Alaska, and John Sramek (Dolores) of Lewistown; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
