Lorna Marie (Faber) Springer, 71, of Havre died Friday, April 29, 2005, at her residence of cancer.
A prayer vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Her funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m.
Wednesday at the St. Jude's Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A
fellowship luncheon will follow at the St. Jude Parish Center.
Lorna was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Havre to Leonard and Rose (Redwing) Faber. She grew up in the Bear Paw Mountains and attended the Faber School, St. Jude School, Havre High, and graduated with a teaching degree from the Northern Montana College.
On May 27, 1961, Lorna married Martin C. Springer in Havre. The couple lived in Gildford, Big Sandy and Havre throughout their marriage. Lorna taught at St. Jude Thaddeus School and Faber School. She also worked for the Grainbelt School, Box Elder School, Rudyard School, Big Sandy School and Gildford School. Lorna ran the Big Sandy Library after retiring from teaching in 1992.
Lorna loved to read, and clip news articles and coupons from the paper. She was a charter member of North Central Montana Cowbelles. She also belonged to the Delta Kappa Gamma, Friends of Big Sandy Library, and PCCW (St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Women).
Lorna was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of almost 44 years, Martin C Springer; daughter, Marcella (Jon) Holden of Havre; son, Reg (Vickie) Springer of Longmeadow, Mass.; sister, Sharon Bellar of Flagstaff, Ariz.; brother, Nick (Pat) Faber of Cleveland; and grandsons, Nolan and Nathan Holden of Havre.
Memorials in Lorna's honor may be made to the Big Sandy Library or to one's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
