MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Caroline Rosella Emery, 84, of Marysville, Wash., formerly of Havre, died at her home at the Allen Creek Adult Home in Marysville, Wash., on Thursday, April 28, 2005. She had moved to Marysville from Havre in 1997.
Services will be held at a later date, with interment in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Caroline was born to Henry Joseph and Catharine Margaret (Sosinsky)
Laufenberg on Jan. 10, 1921, in La Crosse, Wis. She was the second of three children. She attended both public school and Business College in Sparta, Wis., and held bookkeeping positions in that area.
Caroline met Edward Emery on a trip to Montana. They were married in Drummond on Sept. 14, 1951, and lived there for 13 years. In 1964, they moved to Philipsburg, where Edward died Sept. 2, 1987.
Caroline was a homemaker for several years until starting a private kindergarten in her home in Philipsburg. Later she worked at the Sweet Palace Caf and then as a bookkeeper for the Discovery Basin ski area.
She was preceded in death by an older sister, Mildred, and a younger brother, Lawrence.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather (Roger) Hinckley of Havre; sons, Arthur (Debbie) Emery of Reno, Nev., and Edward (Terri) Emery of Marysville, Wash.; sister-in-law, Beverly Laufenberg of Sparta, Wis.; and 12 grandchildren.
