Renette Leona Turbak, 86, died Friday, April 22, 2005, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today, with the prayer vigil beginning at 7 p.m. at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A fellowship will be held at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately after the graveside service.
Renette Bogut Turbak was born June 8, 1918, in Bogut to Victor and Anna (Pilarski) Bogut. She lived in several Montana cities until she moved to Havre in 1929.
Renette graduated from Havre High School in 1937. She worked as a stenographer for the chief dispatcher at the Great Northern Railway. She retired from that position and married George Turbak at St. Jude's Catholic Church on Aug. 10, 1940. Later Renette worked at Clack's Hardware, Brown's Hardware and Morrison Drug. She was active in many church activities such as Cursillo, Search, Altar Society, Worship Commission and Catholic Daughters. She was a member of Blue Horizon RV Chapter, and enjoyed camping and loved people.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Turbak; a daughter, Joan Turbak; five brothers, Edward, Leonard, Floyd, Bernard and Victor Jr .; and two sisters, Irene and Gertrude.
Renette is survived by four daughters, Judy (Ed) Matter and Julie Turbak of Havre, Jan (John) Miller of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeanne (Mike) Kase of Billings; a brother, John Bogut of Sun City, Calif .; 10 trandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Renette's honor may be made to the St. Jude Educational Trust, P.O. Box 407, Havre, MT 59501, or to a memorial of one's choice.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
